Is it possible to fit the disc backwards? When I was assembling the clutch I would have sworn the disc was marked backwards. When installed as per marked, The flywheel would not go on. So I turned disc over and every thing went fine. But now I am wondering?
Thanks Mike

Yes it can go on backwards
Mine was marked gearbox from memory, which goes on the opposite side to the engine (gearbox marked side facing the clutch arm). It’s a little confusing on a mini as the gearbox and engine are on the same side of the flywheel

Anything is possible but as you found, you'll struggle (ie, won't) to get it together if it's the wrong way around.

Busy building 998 units opened the clutch disc box and was confused by the markings. Clear it would never assemble backwards so why bother marking? If you think about the design it can be understood. Assembled and never looked back. Steve (CTR)
