Engine Steady Bar Distance Piece

Post by Mini4Ever »

Does anybody know when the distance piece for the engine steady bar was deleted?

I know that it was still there in December 1965 but what happend after that? I am trying to figure out whether my December 1967 Mk II Cooper should have one or not...

If we are talking about 21A1106 does anybody have any dimensions to make one up, or would someone have one spare?

according to Somerford the distance piece was deleted in 1970, so it should be on your car.

Yes, I meant washer 21A1106. Can anybody confirm that it was deleted as late as the Somerford catalogue suggestes according to Toby?

I can measure one up tonight for the exact dimensions.

No wonder I didn't know what you were on about, I'd never seen one of those before.

Yes, that's it!

Diameter of inner hole: 8.45mm
Diameter of outer ring: 18.95mm
Thickness: 5.40mm

They were introduced in Jan 1963, but when were they deleted?

Without having a look I'm pretty sure that 2 manifold washers fit perfectly :)
