I would glue the piece back in. Fuel doesn't get that high in the bowl.

Epoxy (Araldite) should work but it needs to be fully cured before contact with the petrol.
Where in the world might you be sir ? I have a few scabby 1 1/4" SUs which might yield the float bowl.

I think Frost or Eastwoods used to sell what they termed low temperature welding rods (Aluminium) which suposedly welded (more likley solderd ?) even pot metal, it if I remember did not use any flux.

Is the LH and RH bowl the same ? cause I see the same part no. on them, the one broken is the RH driver/ flywheel side, and it is the old type without the vertical joint casting mark, seems only found on early twin SU sets!
