Maniflow inlet manifold thoughts

I have a maniflow inlet manifold which is currently used with 2 x hif44 (1 3/4inch) SUs. I intend to use this manifold on a different engine but using Hif4s (1 1/2inch) SUs, what is anyone's experience and/or thoughts on the slight "step" going from 1 1/2 carb to 1 3/4 manifold? Thanks for any advice that you are able to give.

Your proposed set up is exactly what I use and don't have a problem. I did use 1" long x 1.5" bore plastic (phenolic?) isolator blocks and ported these out so they were graduated from 1.5" to 1.75"

Thanks for that,I was just considering if it was best to do as you have or whether to just leave the step.
