I think you will find that the comp bumpstop will be to big once the engine is in, they are only really any use on high rally cars - on a std height or lowered road car they just push against the subframe and jam the suspension

I just use the standard bumpstops and allow the suspension to 'breathe'

as long as the shockers are lowered, so they cannot bottom out and damage them selves its not an issue.

the 'er' certainly doesn't bang and crash over the high quality roads of Harrogate :lol:

Many thanks Rich, ill have a look at that, I was under the impression (rightly or wrongly) that the idea of bump stops on the front was to keep the car level at the front then stopping it from lifting a wheel ?, I can remember people filling them with silicone to make them harder ?, someone has also fitted them to my "mighty mini", because of 12 inch wheels ??, your views would be appreciated

don't forget that on the mighties they are racing on super smooth tarmac and are restricted to standard rubber cones with no rear anti roll bar, so they are running the comp bumpstops / jamming the shocks full of rubber (ahem) to try and make the car run as hard and stiff as possible.

remember, the comp bumpstops where originally a works 'bodge' to keep a hydrolastic rally car running once the displacers had burst / the pipes had been ripped off!

Is all good Jon , all good, be good to see you at Blyton, you gonna hit the track ?, still a 50/50 descision on which I'll be driving at blyton! still more likely the Mighty Mini, as I'm stuck without a suitable engine for this one, as I really want to save for a 'trick' motor

Continuation of the wheel saga ;

This is what I've gone with, it's a 1960s Jaguar Met Grey, they look lighter in proper light !

Wanted a 60s colour, I'll take a pic in the light, rather than my dark garage !

I suppose you could always get the roof vinyl wrapped if your unsure, at least you can peel it off if you think its too much.

the place next to us does it, and its not that expensive and they can match any colour

it would be certainly cheaper then getting the roof painted

Funny how the fashion of contrasting tops has come back round again. I've been contemplating getting my daily's roof done too.
