Post by JC T ONE »

Hi all,

does anyone make the welded bolts, with round and very flat head, that is fitted to the brackets for engine bay mounted fan & bonnet hinges.

Thanks

Jens,

Just an idea, but it might be feasible to get a normal bolt/setscrew's head machined down in a lathe ?

I think they're called 'weld studs' or 'weld screws' or 'projection weld studs'.
You can get them from suppliers like this but you probably need to order 50,000!

I wonder if M-Machine might have some?

That's what I did. I could have bought ones that were close, but as Lakeland997 pointed out, the quantity was outa this world.

Hi Jens
I reckon M-Machine will do them, I bought some reconditioned mk1/2 bonnet hinges a year or so ago from them for my project. They had just spot welded the new studs your after into old hinges.
