no its not what your thinking .
i am doing my wiring ( fully dressed) and i am try to work out what flasher unit i need.
my car is a 62 car, with a new loom from autosparks, i had it adaptered to also have hazards lights, with the switch hidden under the dash
under the bonnet where the flasher unit is, i have 5 cables instead of 3, which i know that the extra 2 are for the hazards,
do i use the mk1 flasher, and have another flasher for the 2 extra cables for the hazards
or do i have to find a flasher which takes 5 cables.
in any case does any one know which unit or units i need
thanks dean
flasher!!!!

Re: flasher!!!!
On a k1 you need 3 cable
Dark green
Light green/brown,
Light green/purple,
But Be careful, take a good flasher unit, at holden.co.uk, don't use a shity repro from Lucas sold at MS etc... it never works or a few months..
You shouldn't have extra cables..mayby for side repeater??

Re: flasher!!!!
thanks for your reply.
i know mk1's only have 3 cables for the indicators flasher, but i have had hazard warning light wiring added in, its not something that was ever fitted to mk1 ones, but a good idea when i had my loom made, like i said the switch will be tucked under the dash. not to be seen but there when you need it.
at the point where the flasher is there are 5 cables, and these 5 cables are the same ones at the switch end inside the car, 1 links back to the fuse box
the 2 extra cables are not for the brake light switch as they are already plugged in
by the sounds of it i need the standard flasher unit for the indicators and one for the 2 spare cables to run the hazards.
is that right????

Re: flasher!!!!
don't the three normal ones go onto the mk1 flasher, then the two lighter coloured ones go onto a separate flasher to drive the hazards?

Re: flasher!!!!
thats what i kind of come round to thinking, as after searching for flashers, there are separate units for hazards.
so that kind of answers what i needed
1, no there is not 1 flasher unit with 5 terminals
2, i need a mk1 flasher for 3 cables
and a hazard flasher for the other 2.
