Exhaust to gearbox
Does anybody have a picture of how the exhaust fastens to the gearbox on a 1963? I have ordered fixings from sommerfords but nothing seems to fit. The picture shows to bolt on the gear box

Re: Exhaust to gearbox
I think the clamp you need should be U shaped which goes around the pipe and is then bolted to back of the diff housing on the lug shown in your first pic.
It is possible to use that bracket, in 2nd pic, but that has to be fixed to the diff side cover and a U bracket goes around the exhaust pipe and is fixed to the bracket on the diff side cover.
Hope that makes some sense.

Re: Exhaust to gearbox
From memory the lug shown matched up to an elongated slotted bracket that was welded to the exhaust, the items you have are for the later style and the silver clamp bolts to the drive flange and the exhaust to it via a P shaped clamp.

Re: Exhaust to gearbox
David is correct.
Here's a picture of the front part of a NOS GEX135 exhaust I have in the garage, with the lug showing.
Apologies for the quality of the picture !!

Sorry I'm only posting this up now, I didn't even know I had it!
It would seem that David and Andrew are correct.
