I was just wondering if there are cranks other than the AEG171 that have a stoke of 68.26mm? An 1100 crank or SA 1100 crank for example...
If so, can they be used in an S block?
I'm sure there was a thread or 2 on one of the old forums about South African 1100 cranks and some engine builds using them. Does anyone have any info or links?
The old forums will be left in place for as long as possible, but as I am not servicing them or paying anything for them they could dissapear at any time. This is beyond my control, so make tghe most of them while you can.
As far as SA1100 cranks V 1070 S ones are concerned. They are very close stroke wise, can fit into an S block using 30 thou thrust washers & seem to be just as good in use as the original S item. They are however getting harder to find even in SA.
