I'm hoping to get some info on the carb shown below. The numbers on it are as follows: (Type) 45DCOE13 and (No.) 2578. Just wondered if the '13' at the end of 45DCOE13 means anything... also, is it possible to date it from the No.? Any ideas anyone?
(...and if anyone's interested I'm looking to get rid of it and the 2 manifolds seen here. Will split if that helps!)
I seem to remember that a chart or site link was posted on one of the earlier Mk1 Conversions forums regarding translating Weber numbers and corresponding applications. I'll have a look around and post a link if I find it...
..as it's a bit of a mysterious world to us Weber novices!!
The 13 means the slow run drillings are for siamised inlet ports and was originally designed for an MGB. It then found its way onto a mini. The 9 was for a Healey 3000 with individual inlet tracts.

Really interesting, thanks ivor.
coop12g295 and 251 ENG you have private messages (hopefully!)
also the 13 originaly had a longer pump stroke and a strong pump spring too. but by now markings dont really mean out when it comes to settings as normaly they will have been of a few engines over the years.

Nice to have a topic started on Webers.
What I need to know is...
What Webers to use o na crossflow head. (7 porter - 8 porter)
Type, size ( 40's- 45's), numbers, chokes, jets, etc...
Anyone had experience with Webers on crossflow heads ?
Cheers,
Dieter.
