What thickness wire should you use on a Smiths tacho?

The wires for my revcounter (plus thrue, to coil) are std 1.5 Ø

But some of the wires, on the SMITHS accessorie tacho, are only 1 Ø .

But the ones to & from, the contact set, are always 1.5 Ø .

I always it put down to Gremlins

It turned out to be exactly correct found a bad one behind the dash

Now all is OK, and she starts "on the button" again
