Cooper Aluminum Calipers

Anyone knows if there are aluminum calipers available for the 997/998 Cooper. (Not new 4 pot types)......just something more period.
I know Girling made a larger version that fitted the S. Still have a couple sets of those here.

AP Racing made an aluminium caliper -CP2696... -used on Triumph and other motorcycles, etc..
Now my memory is getting bad, because I can't remember if they use the Cooper or Cooper S pad... and I'm not sure it bolts straight-on,

You might try Performance Braking Monmouth
They helped me source parts for my 3 pairs of alloy calipers off my Vita Cars.
A lot of motorbike and sidecar guys used them in period.
p.s they don't have a website but always answer the phone.

The only alloy caliper that is a direct fit that I know of is the one Minisport sells (27H4656A and 27H4657A), but these are for a Cooper S.
Do you know the model is for the Girling caliper that fits the S (I'm not aware of this one).

Paul, will dig them up and let you know. I know they used Triumph 1300 pads. Keep in mind....I bought the Girlings way back in the 70's.
The AP2696 caliper will fit directly onto the Cooer/S hubs.

Do the CP2696 calipers fit beneath 10-inch wheels?
Before I discovered the Minisport calipers I looked at the AP Formula Ford caliper CP2577-14E0.
It has the correct bolt spacing, piston bore, and offset, but the caliper body was too big to clear 10-inch wheels.

I see a couple of differences compared to Cooper S calipers.
The piston diameters are smaller (41mm vs 44mm) and the max disc thickness is thinner (6.4mm vs 10mm).
Also, the specs don’t specify the body size to determine if they’ll fit under 10-inch wheels.

I am pretty sure the Crossle FF used the same Girling alloy calipers I have...used them on my 1071 race car. They needed some grinding to fit inside the Miniilte rims.
I remember my Dad suggesting these as he raced a Crossle.

Minisport sceptic.. However their 4Pot Caliper(dare i say this ) in my experiences are less hassle than the 4pot Minispares version
downside is their logo stuff on the caliper..

Apparently Lockheed also did alloy ones which were a direct swap for the regular ones. I hadn't seen these before until recently when I had these pictures sent over.

I ran the aluminum cast calipers from Minisport last season on the race mini and I didn’t notice any performance loss from the steel calipers. When I weighed them the aluminum calipers were 3 lbs lighter per caliper than the steel version.

Aren't these the specs of the Cooper 997/998 caliper that the thread is about?

1.625" piston is 41.3mm
1/4" or 6.4mm is the thickness of the std 7.0" disc
