Vortz Airbox
Vortz Airbox
Morning,
Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know if it’s possible to obtain new Vortz airboxes for twin HS4’s? I know up until a few years ago it was possible but I cannot find contact details.
Thanks

Re: Vortz Airbox
The HS2 airbox can be modified to fit. Needs spacers between elbows and carburettors so the dash pots clear the box and the depth of the box reduced to clear the bulkhead. Problem is the price of air boxes these days, cutting them up seems like sacrilege.

Re: Vortz Airbox
Thanks both. I’m just trying to find a solution to cut down the noise of induction roar as currently running ram pipes and filter socks which sound great but get a bit wearing on longer drives.
The Vortz box (or something similar) looks like a solution without denting performance; searching through the forum Pad4 had one made a number of years ago; is he still active on here ?
Failing that, perhaps chopping an HS2 box is the solution.

I’ve used Concept Racing for bits in the past. They could easily make you one, probably coat no more than a Vortz one.

Re: Vortz Airbox
Hello.
I have been chasing leads to buy a Vortz airbox for my HS4 carbs.
At moment running on H4 carbs with highly modded HS2 pair box.
Because of the mods to allow HS2 pair box to fit over the H4 carbs, the induction roar is
unacceptable.
I have seen on this thread the HS4 carbs with a modded standard twin airbox .
Looks an elegant solution and am more than happy to settle for that if someone will make it, then I will pay.
I will follow up leads already given and have one more lead for Vortz.
Life is a bit short to continue the chase.

Re: Vortz Airbox
Specialist Components now make a Vortz-style airbox for twin HS4s, I believe they were also working on a version to fit HS2s. Expensive, but they do look good. https://www.specialist-components.co.uk ... irbox.html

Re: Vortz Airbox
I’ve driven a vortz mini and to me there is a louder induction roar from the air box over standard . Part of the appeal , it sounds like it’s doing its job of sucking in lots of air . … Shirley
