Mark:
(Note: I think there is an error on the closing date in link below ie. Friday 29th May should be 29th April ?)

Well spotted!

As Captain Mainwaring would say, well done, I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice that :)

Now sorted, thanks.

We have broken another very significant barrier today.

The total donated has just passed the £7500 mark.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so generously. And for the very, very few notable exceptions, there are still a few days left to buy your tickets.

If you mean by the very very few notable exceptions Mark, I cannot believe that some people haven't bought even one ticket !!

Apart from being for a bloody good cause that statistically many of us will endure or our loved ones will, if you look purely at it from the 'what do I get out of it' selfish attitude, I remember one year at our works Christmas raffle one guy bought one ticket and walked away with the top prize. Many of us spent £50 -£100 in tickets and won f**k all !!

So buy a ticket or two or three or .....

Don't get me wrong! The total so far, speaks for itself. The vast majority of people have been incredibly generous & have in lots of cases bought multiple numbers of tickets.

If people choose not to buy any, then that is their choice.

When added to the collection in my wife Elizabeth’s memory the total (out of date already!) looked like this yesterday and to give you all an idea of what this means to cancer sufferers and their families :

If 300 people turn up and they all put a fiver in the bucket then the 10K target will be smashed.

The total donated has now increased to £8775.00

We are in with a very good chance of breaking the £10,000 barrier even before our Blyton Action Day this Sunday.

Thank you to EVERYONE who has taken part either by donating a prize or buying a ticket.

The total donated is now at £9060.00

We are tantalisingly close to breaking the £10,000 barrier. A fairly tall order with only 24 hours left to purchase tickets. This would be a terrific achievement for such a comparatively small group of people.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who has contributed anything.

Tomorrow is the funeral of my old mate Dave from way back when minis were disposable, the fun we had. Another victim of cancer. Just bought a few of more tickets in Dave's' memory

I had a long chat with MacMillan today and they’re absolutely over the moon with what’s been achieved here I can tell you that, quite an emotional conversation, I want you all to know what it means to me and my family to see the generosity being shown here. Yes Gordon, it’s something that’s probably affected all of us in one way or another sadly.

I'm sure we would all agree it's the least we can do Pete.

Found out last week that someone I've known for most of my life has stage 4 cancer .. similar age to me ..
