It's about time they sorted those wings out :? ...I imagine they are seeing some of the faults whilst building the mk1 shells, and trying to address the issue's they are finding on them.
Next batch should be ready soon, so fingers crossed they've improved some ;)

Well, I don’t think it’s M5 because I tried one in it earlier. Too small.

Shall try a number 8 UNF and see how that goes. Short of that, there’s two options;

1. Use the 10-32 tap
2. Drill the captive through and use a Longer 10-32 screw and fumble with a spring washer and nut behind the two screws closest the door edge.

Postscript to this saga in case it’s helpful to anyone else;

Threads are original but loads of material needed taking out to get them available.

The lock shroud needed grinding back to make the screw holes available and so the screw could locate parallel to the thread. It also needed some further persuasion back towards the B post to enable the lock and the felt gasket to locate and line up with the screw threads.

It also needed the slot that the latch goes through opening out a good ten thou or so with a file on the rear edge and at the the top to prevent the latch binding.

Finally and still to do, the single screw hole at the front which locates with a nut now needs elongating as it’s a good 3mm out.

And repeat for the drivers side.

Grr.
