CV boot rubbers

Post by johnv »

I know there’s been numerous threads on this, but if I may, where is generally thought to be the best source at the moment? Mine have perished before the car even turned a wheel ..

I've used italian made outer CV boots from another car ( citroen maybe ? ) , they are good quality if you are not worried about originality.
I will get the par number over the WE and share here, kept the boxes somewhere.

Part Number D8151E , AutoFren brand ( actually spanish ) ,
it's a Ford Fiesta Mk2/3 CV boot, and listed also as compatible with Austin Metro CV joint.
Fiesta boots should be very easy to find in UK.

Cheers

Luis, are these the ones that come with the Metelli CV's ?

I've found them to be quite a good boot.

Hi Chris,

No , these are spanish ones , boxes similar as the one from pic below. I have also in use an italian Metelli set when they were available here listed as metro CV boots , after 6 years they are still ok.

The good thing is that for the Ford Fiesta there are still some good quality brands stocking them .

Cheers

Thanks Luis - nice to have some alternatives and good to know that there's one from another car that'll fit, though, I'm sure if we sat down with a Catalogue, we'd find quite a few.
