Thanks in advance

Sorry, don't mean to hijack this thread but I bought a set of leads from these guys. they look nice but when measuring resistance of the leads they measure many hundreds of k Ohms close to 1M Ohm. I am surprised they don't just use straight copper conductors so now I am concerned that my stock ignition system may not have enough snot to fire this reliably.iain1967s wrote:Just FYI, if you’re looking for NOS/repro leads I got a WC200 set from eBay “Mr Retro leads and plugs” https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_odkw ... _nkw=wc200
Have a read through this, a good clear explanation on the different conductor typesGary Schulz wrote:Sorry, don't mean to hijack this thread but I bought a set of leads from these guys. they look nice but when measuring resistance of the leads they measure many hundreds of k Ohms close to 1M Ohm. Is this sort of high impedance expected?
Just changed out from the high impedance ‘retro’ carbon string leads to a set of ‘works type’ copper core bumble-bee leads. It seemed to help with an intermittent misfire I was having - but I suspect the actual problem is a weak coil; I have an SA12 going in next.Gary Schulz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 12:17 pmSorry, don't mean to hijack this thread but I bought a set of leads from these guys. they look nice but when measuring resistance of the leads they measure many hundreds of k Ohms close to 1M Ohm.
