Lucas Wiper Motor mounting studs - metric?

Post by AndyPen »

Went to fit my new ones from mini spares today and they felt a bit tight in the back of the motor - so I didn't force them. Might just be a manky thread but can't see the ones for sale being the wrong thread???

Anyone else had the problem, are they metric perhaps? Or do I just have to be a bit more forceful ;-)

Yes I had same problem and threw them away and used some original ones, just used the rubbers out of the kit I bought.
Have found a few issues like this when buying new parts.

Yes you can get away with M5 nut on a 2ba bolt..

If you still had the original nuts and studs, why not use them with the new rubber parts and washers?

I guess every picture tells its story on that score. One down, two to go ;-)

The new kits are absolute rubbish. Use the rubbers with the original studs/washers/nuts. Throw the rest in the bin.
