Hardy Spicer Couplings
I am fitting Hardy Spicer couplings to a Mini Cooper S with MED pot joint flanges, however when I am putting the engine in the clearance is very tight, therefore, I am trying to work out whether the Hardy Spicer couplings I have are the correct length. Does anyone know the correct length of a Hardy Spicer coupling for the S, or can offer any advice?

Re: Hardy Spicer Couplings
It is always a little bit fiddly getting the hardy spicers lined up. This can be agrivated by not getting the flanges tight home on the gearbox. Make sure the flanges have no more than about 2 or 3 mm clearance between box & flange & the hardy spicer is sliding freely & things should line up OK.

I've got a little more to add......make sure the studs on the flanges are pushed back or removed.
