Would a cooper S have the vacume 'take off ' on the Right Hand carb blocked or was the 'take off' tube not there ?

I have a couple sets of 1071 and 1275 carbs with blanked off take off spouts.

I thought it odd to start with but a post on here a few years ago put my mind at rest.

The one I have, the tube is soldered up I think. I wasn't sure if that was correct. Thanks .

I've seen unrestored cars with vac ports as above, blocked off.

Yes on early cars without a PVC valve, as when they were fitted it was just left connected to nothing ;-) Change point around Sept 64 with the hydro wasn't it?

That's what I thought, early cars only.......

I have an August 25 64 1275 S, and, this is one of the things I need to find out......

That change to Hydro only says September 64, lot of days in September 30 to be exact........

My car has a wet shell, one of the first, maybe THE first, I don't know........But, it was definitely built as a dry car.....

It didn't come with it's original engine, and, these are all the little details I need to sort out......

Hydro shells were being build before the auctuater switchover. Worked on a 64 shell that had a factory hydro floor and boot floor, but dry bulkhead.

I have a 1966 S wet car with a July build date.
I purchased the car from the original owner.
The Heritage Certificate indicates “Personal Export”.

Below are pictures of my air cleaner and twin carbs.

The air cleaner tube has a screw clamp near the bottom.
What is attached to this tube?

( Added after initial post )
I now understand -
- the clamp is actually holding an extension pipe in place.
- the pipe was intended to pull warm air off the exhaust manifold.
