any 6R4 nuts out there?

Post by MadMatt »

hi all, sorry it`s been a while between posts for me, but i`m wondering if any of you are absolute & total Metro 6R4 nuts?
& if so, can i rub you up for some information? i`m working on one here in Aust & would dearly like some history on the thing if possible?

They're a fairly potent beast aren't they.
Will have to do a fair bit of digging to find the magazines with all the info in though.
What I vaguely remember though is the V6 motor was a cut down V8 unit. Rather than go to the hassle of building a completely new engine they used what they could find off the shelf.
I think the Group B works cars had something like 330+ HP and they also produced a Clubman version with fewer horses.
The noise it made was awesome, totally different to the rest of the Group B cars of the day.
On a visit to Gaydon once they had a Group B version on display and I was surprised at how basic the rest of the car was, considering what it was and how thin the driveshafts were. :o

thanks guys, yeah i`m onto those forums etc & am waiting replys

this one sure looks the real deal & "certainly" goes the real deal :-) :-) :-)

finally got it all up & running after quite a few days of work but happy as a pig in mud now,,, VERY fast car, yet surprisingly easy to drive,,, & also funny enough it`s way easy to drive VERY FAST than it is to drive slow :-)

i`m hoping to have a run in an Autocross at Willowbank soon, but we still need to sort out a few more issues to make the screw-tin-ears happy :-)

Edit,,, sorry i took it off youtube till we know exactly what`s happening with the car

more info soon
