Lucas 6RA spot light wiring

Post by sr001 »

Can anyone clarify the wiring layout for the a Lucas 6RA please?

I have a four pin relay (one has two connectors) marked W1, W2, C1 and C2. I assume they will be ground, 12v power, switched power and lamp power, but I can not remember which is which.

Thanks

W1 is one end of the relay coil
W2 is the other end of the relay coil

C1, C2, are the contacts:

C1 is common
C2 is normally open
Normally open means the terminal is NOT connected to the common terminal
until you flick the switch and send some small power over W1/W2 - Then--->
all the big current flows through C1/C2 and lights up your spotlights :o :o :o

thanks 12g295

to be clear, and to put it in to my simple english, are you saying:

W1 and W2 are for power in and out, C1 and C2 are the switching side?

Yes I think that is what I am saying , but your english is confusing me

C1 connects to the power
C2 connects to the spotlights

W1 to earth
W2 to the switch and power

(I've edited my post above to make things more clear) :geek:
