Cooper S Block

Post by Henry »

Hello, I have an opportunity to buy a Cooper S engine, was wondering if anyone can tell from the attached photo what the bore size is (from the piston numbers)... I don't have physical access to the engine, the seller measured somewhere around 2.780" to 2.800" and perhaps he does have the tools to measure more accurately , so it is not clear to me if it is standard bore or 20 over. Thanks

If the pistons would be over sized that would be stated on them. These are stamped AEG341, to my knowledge those were innocenti 1300 cooper pistons. You will have to check the casting of the block to make sure it really is a S block

These pistons are also found in 1300GTs and Cooper Ss.
