changing 1960 positive earth car to negative
what's involved with this and what are the benefits?? presumably everything works better?!

The only real "benefit" would be the wider range of accessories available. Not much made anymore for positive ground.
The electron (smoke) in the wires doesn't really care which way ground is.... It's just going around in circles.

Spot on cheers, just need to find wiring diagram for the car now - couple guys on here have been kind enough to email me some (tks Paul, Ronnie) but i don't think they're quite right, as neither shows floor start switch wired dirct to the battery. Niall.

One final question, given i have brand new loom, regulator and refurbished dynamo, do i need to perform the procedure outlined in the link above?
