Firstly should a 1966 Mini have carbon type leads? Are Green Spark Plug ones Ok?
Secondly are the clips for the plug caps available from anywhere?
GSP only sell one type of clip which is not that similar to the originals?
Not my pics...

A few years ago I tried unsuccessfully to source the clips. The outfit that sells the repro Champion caps does not sell just the clips. The green cable I used on my '66 S is copper cored and I believe this is correct for '66.

Try Sommerfords. I'm not suggesting here that they will have what your after, but they do have a selection of period fittings.
It would appear that Copper Leads were used up to the late 60's.

I have used Champion/Ripault hypalon green carbon cored wire , when fitted, there's no visual difference to the copper cored wire.

I agree with Toby, The clips that GSC sell work fine with any early plug.

Yes, but they don't give much detail on them, are they suitable for the caps, are they crimped on?

They aren't crimped on, they slide on with the spike down the conductor.
When the cap is pushed into place it pushes the little clip bit into the insulation which holds it all together.

Have used them many times, have some original Lucas Hypalon wires carbon cored if anyone is interested.
