Post by locrep »

Hi, Has anyone a picture of where the floor start switch wires go through the floor panel on a MK1.

Thanks Dave.

If you look on this picture when I was starting the resto on my mk1 you can see the grommet and the wire although it has been cut to remove the loom as I hadn't got access to underside at the time, and was rebuilding the loom anyway,

The cables to the floor start switch don't go through the floor, only the switch.

As far as I am aware the wire I have shown just connects to battery side of the floorstart switch and takes power to the regulator box. The actual switch for starting is a mechanical device and simply connects starter to battery cable when depressed

What he said.

Its a ~1/4" dia cable, which goes through a grommet above the gear lever. Not the heavy (~ 1/2") starter and battery cables.
