Hello guys

The engine starts and runs well,

But the revcounter doesn't work...

I'm totally sure about the wiring,

I already tested the eletricity from + and - to the rev counter it works,

I tried to switch the distributor wire with the coil, and to adjust the lenght of the buckle

It doesn't work! I feel like screaming lol

Thats the problem with these very old induction loop tachos. they often dont work.

Probably not an answer you want to hear but look at these. Great quality & super retro look.

Hello Mark!

Thank you

I know them,

I prefer to keep my old one,

Perhaps I made a mistake but I tried everything to make it work

I replaced every cables to start with a brand new wiring

The induction loop wire can be very sensitive to wire thickness, length of wire & size of loop.

To be honest if you have absolutely no reading at all on your tacho it is probably knackered, but if you want to continue to try, I would suggest you concentrate on the white induction loop wire, if your tacho is working then this wire will be the key to getting a reading.

I appreciate you want to keep the original, but if it was mine, I'd stick it on a shelf & call it a collectable.

Induction loop tachos are crap.

I totally agree with you mark,

but my father asked me to fit an old one,

As for the indection buckle

I replace the wire, but with exactly the same material

The buckle is the same,

I don't know, I will try to find a shop that could help me

These can be tested & repaired.

This guy does good work & can convert to impulse at the same time.

If you suspect your tach is dead, look at the tach conversion boards sold by Spiyda Design. As long as the meter portion of your RVI tach works, the board will both restore it to functionality and update it to a voltage pulse sensing tach.

Hello Guys,

I think about buying a new one,

Ok spydia, can repair the eletrical fault but, if the problem comes from the mechanical part.. I prefer to leave it like that,

I already contacted specialist, a total refurbishment will cost me about 120 pounds.. a new one will cost me about 130 pounds..
