SU fuel pump breathers

Just about to fit an SU pump(don't know what make is on but it's small diameter and sticks!). Suction/discharge and electrical connections are obvious..........what's the perceived wisdom on the breathers?...........going to siamese them with small bore tubing. Can't see/find any reference/pictures of the breathers.

There just that breathers, you can tee them together just make sure they face down so they don't act like mini funnels for water................

If it's any help, here's a factory recommended way of doing it (nearly all Cooper S's made here were set up this way from the factory);-









However, I wouldn't bother looking for the 'Rivet - Nylon P/N 13H1640' as they are very thin on the ground.

dragging up a old thread, can anyone confirm that the breather "rivit" 13H1640 has been remade? If so where can I buy them from?

I am no purist and would not pay that sort of money for a part that is hidden under the car... but to each his own.

Were I looking for an alternate, I would consider some of the Luer Lock (syringe) fittings that adapt small bore tubing. Take a look at the plastic parts near the bottom of the page linked below.

You could use a barbed fitting and pass its Luer lock through the hole in the heel board and fit a Luer nut on the inside to secure the fitting in place.

So the difference on a AUF200 and AUF201 is only the small breather pipe on the metal housing ? or are there other ways to spot a AUF200 ?
