Shells were not assembled at Castle Bromwich, they were assembled at Longbridge. CB used to make boot floor asssemblies. that being the boot floor and rear seat with the rear parcel shelf. The sections were then taken to Longbridge by lorry for the shell to be built.

Useless info', my grandad used to work at Castle Bromwich, long before the Mini, building another iconic machine.
