I'm currently restoring a mk2 cooper, I will be fitting boot board brackets for 165 tyres....so am I right in thinking that the ones on the bulkhed will need moving 20mm higher up or have I got that wrong? Cheers

Not sure how much higher ? but yes - they need to go higher.

just put the 165 next to a 145 & mesure the difference ?

Oh and they need to be fitted to a rim, as they go wider, when inflated.

You will also need to trim the board down - they need to be narrower as they go higher....

Thanks for the replies. I'm now thinking against the taller brackets as there is a lot of messing around. Might keep a 145 tyre as a spare instead?
