Post by minidean »

I am removing the engine from my 1963 mini to clean it up. I will need to paint it an I want to use the original paint. Any ideas what i need to use and where I can get it from???

I got my green paint from Somerford a few years ago - they do a couple of shades and maybe a choice of brush on or spray. I'ev always used the brush on which works fine.

Somerfords paint is really good. I used it on EDV when the engine was out and it lasted years!

BMC engine green is available from a number of suppliers nowadays. My preference is the "light" minispares stuff, but I am sure the Sommerford paint is just as good.

As a matter of interest, the original BMC engine green was BS Middle Bronze Green when it was painted new.
