Why did / do people feel the need to spray 4mm of underseal behind dash panels, on parcel shelf, all over engine bay, boot and all over my floor, back seat and under the car (can understand the last one I guess)

grrrr

days and days of scraping and still not finished.

Have you heated it up before scrapping.I had to do it on my own car.
It does take a bit of time but you get there.

Don't worry, I tried all methods.

In the end I found heat gun and scraper to be the best. Some stuff is easy to get off but others are baked on hard.

Just venting.. I feel better now

It's all off and looking good.

Welcome to the fun world of Mini restoration

My car also had this ALL over the engine bay.

It was sprayed on so thick, that it had covered both holes, and the plates with FE and body number.

Had a very similiar experience hard work to get it all off, but well worth the effort,as you see in the before and after pictures
