doing a bit of work on one of my fleet yesterday....


i wanted the master cylinders off it and discovered at first glance that someone had used a nut and bolt to join the masters to the pedal box - the bastards!

so, stripped the column and the heater out to get some room, then discovered that whilst they had used a bolt to join them, they had saved time by not putting a nut on the other side........

great, im glad i was driving this car in ignorance of this fact!!!!!

So are you saying the master cylender was held in place by bolts, only from the outside

no, the pin that connects the pedal to the operating rod had been replaced with a bolt only....

it could have fallen out at anytime


had i not blown the gearbox up, id have still been driving it......

just as bad, good thing you found out, before it fell out.


Reminds me of the 4 near side wheel studs, off the Black "thingie" =
