yikes!

doing a bit of work on one of my fleet yesterday....


i wanted the master cylinders off it and discovered at first glance that someone had used a nut and bolt to join the masters to the pedal box - the bastards!

so, stripped the column and the heater out to get some room, then discovered that whilst they had used a bolt to join them, they had saved time by not putting a nut on the other side........

great, im glad i was driving this car in ignorance of this fact!!!!! :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

So are you saying the master cylender was held in place by bolts, only from the outside :shock:

no, the pin that connects the pedal to the operating rod had been replaced with a bolt only....

it could have fallen out at anytime :shock:


had i not blown the gearbox up, id have still been driving it......

Reminds me of the 4 near side wheel studs, off the Black "thingie" =
