opened an engine/box up,ive had in the lock up for years, of unknown origin,to find spring clutch on a normal size taper crank and not the small tail crank as the norm...???
no engine number or id marks.. but the car was a 63 it was removed from back in 1987..again no identity marks-all i know it was grey/white but this means nothing i suppose.

its not an 850 i know for sure .bore size looks more like 1275 approx 70 mm (dished pistons) and a quick rough measurement of
the stroke- approx 68 mm which seems the same as an 850

its deffo been rebuilt at some time with a 10 thou grind on both journals.

i assume this is some kind of overbored hybrid ?

The Diaphragm clutch was introduced during September 1964 on the 850 models.

The 1071 had the Diaphragm clutch from April 64.
