rear dry suspension ride height
needing to raise the rear ride height, looks a bit low at the arse end,i know we used to remove the cone, knock out the knuckle and put washers on the,pin and replace, but cant remember how many washers ,or the measurement to make a noticeable difference, thanks in advance

Replace the cones or buy Hi lo's and raise it up that way

Bodge? So the works team and everyone else bodged things did they?
0.10" washer should give noticeable lift. 0.20" was recommended maximum in period.

Agree with the rear ratio as 5:1 and I think the front is 3:1.
Nothing the matter with using washers, done it for years with no problem, still looks original too.
As you say its only my tuppence worth.

Re: rear dry suspension ride height
New knuckles plus two washers makes a very noticeable difference.
One would consider the washer trick a bodge if they were raising the height of very well worn nuckles simply by inserting the washers without replacing the worn knuckle joints

Re: rear dry suspension ride height
for Appendix K racing we have to use washers to adjust the ride height and corner weights so do not see a problem, just do it!nick@dunsdale wrote:New knuckles plus two washers makes a very noticeable difference.

Re: rear dry suspension ride height
the adjustment washers where a proper Rover part, so cannot really ever be considered as a 'bodge'
please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares

Re: rear dry suspension ride height
There are also taller knuckles available. They fitted these to the fronts of the last of the Rovers to hold up all the extra crap they put in to them. These will also work in the back. I think (not 100% sure) these were an extra 0.200" off the bat!
And you can add washers to these quite OK.
