Whats the best way to free the sliding windows up? Is it ok to use WD40 in the runners?
Cheers

An old tip I picked up, when my father was in the RREC, was to use graphite powder in the window runners to help tired electric window motors. It is used by locksmiths to dry lubricate locks, that's were I get mine.
RS Componenets also sell it

PS Don't use WD40, or any type of oil. It will attract dirt and will make it worse in time.

If, like me, you have the new style rubber runners you will find these shrink (perhaps more so in our heat) and grab the glass. Lubricant won't really help.
You can buy the old style metal backed bottom runner but if someone knows where you can get the old style upper section I would REALLY like to know....
If you really want to try lubricant, I would agree with the choice of aerosol dry silicone lubricant.
Cheers, Ian

You can get a specific "stuff" for lubricating window runners. I think I got mine from Halfords or the like. I have only ever had 1 tin that has lasted for ever.
