End of what was a kosher S..

Post by KR200 »

Sorry if repost. I've no idea if the pi$$ed rozzers got out of it but it's not a pretty sight. They would have a fierece headache if they did.

I'd say the block must have cracked too. Shame as it was exactly what we'd kill for today. Citroen is very smashed. I'd have expected less.

Maybe that afternoon - but the driver climbed out with "lacerated arms" - caused by the disintegration of the wooden steering wheel. The passenger suffered a broken toe....

Lucien Bianchi's navigator (in the Citroen) came out somewhat worse...

Cheers, Ian

joking apart, im surprised the injuries where not worse, both cars have taken a heavy hit, there must have been some speed involved

That was the London to Sydney Marathon. Can't remember the year but the citron was in the lead and was a certainty to win it. The accident happened on the last day, from what I can remember.

Tim, you might have the full story in one of your mini experience mag's. That will clear it up
never argue with a fool, they'll only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience

Yes it is in TME somewhere. From memory it was somewhere around the ACT, just a couple of hours south of Sydney. They'd driven all the way from London and got smacked up on one of the last stages. I'll try to dig it out.

Here's the whole thing. World was a nicer place 44 years ago. Try driving across Afghanistan today. Escorted or not.

I'd love to have a go. Call me weird but I sort of have a fondness of having my head connected to the rest of my body.

not just speed, listen to the narrator, in the old B&W film, the Citroen had alloy panels.

That would explain, why the S could make so much damage.
