Mk1 jack/brace colour

Hi
Going to give my jack and brace a rub down and lick of paint - wondered if anyone has done this and they know the paint code for the red or a modern shade that is simillar?

Hi , vw Mars red is very close .This is how mine turned out

I did that a few months ago. Not as perfect as the one above, not by a mile, but a decent result.

They both look great, I ordered some new stickers at Brooklands yesterday....that does look a good colour match too, so i'll order a can in that shade.

I believe Mk1 wheel braces were a different red than the jacks, more of a blood or plum red. Both my Mk1's are anyway and both in original paint.
