Seats -who makes them?

Post by rolesyboy »

Does anybody know of anybody who makes Mk 1 recliner seats for Minis (other than Newton) I am keen to get hold of some for my Cooper S as I reallly can't get on with standard seats. Cheers. Mark

I think you're gonna be limited to Newton's Mark , what about going for a period bucket like a Microcell ? Gareth on here does a VERY accurate and comfortable repro .

Thanks Pete,

Yes,with those seats you are definitely limited to 'Newton'.Unless you can source an old pair ripe for restoration.
Alternatively ,if your interested I could offer you a pair of original 'Microcell' recliners, restored and ready to fit, something like these.
Cheers Gareth

Great. Thanks for the heads up Pete and Gareth. Any chance of some contact details and what part of the country you live in Gareth. Cheers. Mark

Those 2 tone grey ones look terribly familiar

Ashley James in Blackrod (near Bolton) can supply frames and covers. (www.ashleyjamesautotrim.co.uk)

Also, they have had the gold brocade reproduced and unlike the Newton one, theirs is wide enough to cover the rear parcel shelf without a join
