Afternoon, apologies in advance for no doubt another stupid question, but, I’m trying to find neutral in a new to me remote 3 synchro straight cut gearbox (unknown LSD), it’s mated to the engine and out of the car. It’s in what appears to be neutral but I can’t spin the Hardy Spicer outputs by hand, surely I should be able too? I’m trying to fit the Hardy Spicer outputs and need to spin them for ease. Thanks
Edit: spare engine says it should turn. So I supposed my question is, would an lsd prevent this? Thanks

Re: Finding Neutral?
If you are trying to turn one side with the other not free to spin, then yes, it will feel like it's locked up.

Re: Finding Neutral?
Hi thanks for the reply, I’ve tried turning both sides at the same time, in the same direction, but nothing.
When spinning just one side, the opposite side hesitates in the same direction then both just lock up like it’s in gear, but with more play.

Re: Finding Neutral?
If it really in in Neutral, then something between the Output Shafts and the Mainshaft is locked up.
If it's been sat for a while it maybe that a baulk ring is stuck on one of the gears, usually a decent 'baring over' will free it up.
