That Mini has a very BIG advantage over that opposition .. yes its got a "Proper Handbrake" & does not need a plug in Technician to get any faults fixed

Just shows how ridiculous the size of the modern SUV .
Sick...really stupid how big these vehicles are now....I am always amazed when I visit the UK.....your back roads are still the same width as they were 60 years ago.....back then...two cars could pass....not so today. BTW...nice blue skies.....no clouds...no rain...must be climate change

Mini parked between two modern behemoths, as it was the last parking space available!
(Photo originally posted by a member of The Mini Forum) Its So Tiny:- https://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/t ... s-so-tiny/
It wasn't meant to be a parking spot, it's just the space required to open the doors for the occupants of these two bloody tanks to get out
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s
Here in Rural Somerset it's Giant John Deere EGO tractors imported from the USA that I'm 'slightly' more concerned about.
Also I feel safer in my SUV than in my Mini, everywhere.

Yes, but YOU (passively) voted for an ever increasing list of additional safety measures and emissions mitigation over mandating for ultimate fuel economy. If we had chosen another route we could easily be nipping about in 200cc two seaters doing 1000mpg. But would you be scared to be on the same roads as a juggernaut?

My thoughts also, ironically if we had followed the Issigonis mind set we would be closer to this idea.
Is it Paris that are heavily taxing cars over a certain size ? …..in a city, especially, its difficult to argue against that.

Its not just modern cars. below is a couple of pictures taken from Cornwall last year when i took the mini down for my Sons wedding , off course while we were close to Lands end , we had to have a little drive out. My son took his 70's dodge pick up and me the mini. some interesting pics were taken , as the sun was going down.

Good point, Federal cars have marginally downsized in the last 50 years!
They may weigh more, but footprint has reduced!
Whereas european cars are continuing getting fatter!
I know a chap with a Lotus Europa who ended up with a child's bicycle flag on the back after a Chelsea Tractor in front started reversing and never saw him. Luckily they stopped when he leant on the horn but I bet you feel properly invisible in one of those in modern traffic. I am also reminded of a friend of my dad's who had a Lotus 7 and sold it after his wife pointed out she could see through the underneath of lorries on the motorway as they passed.
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!
