What is it?

Post by 360gts »

Just a piece of trivia.

OK, wonder how many of you know what this part is (I know as I have a few)
If YOU know....just politely say YES so as not to spoil it for others.
After a few days I will supply the answer with a detailed picture.
Cheers

Yes

I have one too, but unfortunately, I'm missing the other parts that it goes with.

Nope....., never seen one, certainly in use!

Anything to do with a BMC BL or MG-Rover supplied jack, you can count me out! It's the first thing that gets binned

No idea .. however may be a flat pack self erecting Wheel Chock kit ..essential to satisfy road regs in the Rockies .. they are to be used to stop the local Bears pushing broken down cars off the Highway.. the Bears want the car to then be used as their Winter Dens this is all part of changing habit & due to Global Warming ..
This will be shown on the next Sir David TV series about the Canadian Bears & should help Dermott sell off his remaining left over wheel chock stock ;)

Since the 'game' went awry!!!
Here is the correct answer. It sits on top of the screw jack before you slide the jack under the front crossmember of the FRONT subframe.
Item #10.
Norman...thanks for the laugh.

The part no. is 21A404.

As mentioned earlier, I was generously given one by a local Aussie Traveller enthusiast. They are incredibly rare out here because that style of jack was never used in Australia. One day I'd like to get the correct jack to go with it. Unfortunately they make a good basis for conversion to a Jaguar E-Type jack and so sell for insane money online.

There is a fascinating (maybe just to me) archive of British Jack information at the website below. Some of the info is a bit iffy, but the guy has done an amazing job of pulling it all together. The little bracket is shown under the category of LJ225 (Mini) about halfway down the page.
