BLYTON ARRIVALS SATURDAY - URGENT!

Post by mk1 »

Anyone planning on attending Blyton this weekend, please note the following.

WE HAVE JUST BEEN INFORMED BY JAVELIN THAT THERE WILL BE NO ACCESS TO THE SITE UNTIL 6PM.

THIS IS LATER THAN WE EXPECTED, BUT THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.

IF YOU ARRIVE BEFORE 6PM, YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT OUTSIDE THE TRACK AREA UNTIL WE ARE ALLOWED ACCESS.

I'll be there from about 4.30 as usual, to police this.

Thanks,

Mark F

Nominally 7.30, but I don't think it is ever locked nowadays.

it says empty trailers and tents only but hoping that it will dry out this week and expand its use.

As it stands, it is most likely just light trailers & tents on the grass. But this will be reviewed on the day.

As I’ve posted on the main thread I’ll be having an update chat with Blyton themselves on Friday about this so will be able to say more tomorrow. Drainage of the grassed areas at Blyton is an issue, I was at Oulton on Saturday and there were no issues with parking on grass considering the recent weather but then Donington did have so every area is different. Apparently the south are getting much more inclement weather than we are currently as it’s very warm, dry and breezy up here so it might dry out. I’ll update tomorrow.

Well I spoke to Blyton earlier who say the grassed areas are still out of bounds unfortunately. Currently dry and warm there and looks from the latest weather forecast like we’re very unlikely to see any rain tomorrow afternoon or Sunday BUT if you are bringing a gazebo, especially traders, please bring something to secure it (weights) just in case we can’t get you on the grass. Apparently there’s a lot more hard standing in the trade area than there was last year.

I’ll be there Saturday evening, as Mark will to direct everyone arriving (from 6pm) and from 7.30 Sunday morning.
