Unusual engine plate on a 1275 S engine

I have this 1275 S engine and here is the engine plate on it.
Can anyone shed some light on this unusual engine tag?

Looks home made to me, never seen an A series engine tag that did not have raised digits.

probably made by someone who has a set of Letter/number stamps, which are all uneven and misaligned.
