I can't post pictures at the moment, but the door handle on my Hornet has a stuck lock.
The key does a 1/3rd of a turn (I've checked the numbers and it's a matched FS key) but won't move the sliding plunger.
The plunger is spectacularly rusty and jammed solid in the handle body - soaking it in assorted fluids for several months in total has done nothing, except let the key do it's 1/3rd turn easier.
I'd like to keep the original handle if at all possible, and also save the lock barrel as it matches the stamped number on the spindle.
I'm guessing that drills and a Dremel (other makes are available) are going to be featuring in my near future, but not having dismantled one before, any advice on how to strip & save most of the assembly would be much appreciated.

Re: Mk1 door lock jammed
I've just had to do the same Alex and understand your plight. But to even try to explain it all in understandable writing would be a nightmare of jumbled words...... Even with photos!
They DO come apart, even if it is a piece/tumbler/spring/pin at a time........ if you persevere!
PM will follow
