Pressing Cooper S pin drive shaft into different pump

Post by 65MK1S »

Has anybody had any luck taking a pin drive shaft from a Cooper S
pump and pressing it into a new different pump? If so which pump did
you go with? I have a good pin drive shaft but don't know which alternate
pump would work so could be replaced instead of the old Cooper s pump.
I hope this makes sense, the more I read it the less sense it makes :?

Done this twice now with no problems.

You need an original standard Concentric pump that to all effects is exactly the same as the S pump apart from the shaft.

Carefully measure how far the pin protrudes through the rotor where it sits in the pump housing and then press the short pin out and press the S pin in to the same position.

I did post up an example of what the pump needs to look like in your Wanted ad. :)
