Howley pistons 304, ring search

Post by JCWorks »

I have a set of used Howley pistons that I plan to reuse, standard 1275-size. Does anyone know if new rings still can be sourced?

Check the ring thickness, could just be standard rings? 1/16 top and 2nd but check check they are not 1.5mm.

Based on that number inside those were produced by Omega.

Thanks for the info, appreciated. When you say Omega and 304 it just crossed me I have a bunch of Omega 304´s in the garage, but they are all for Renault engines... But with some luck the "Howleys" could be Omegas manufactured for Howley? That would make ring sourcing easier.

Rings, and apologies now, I´m a metric guy, measure 1.15 mm for compression and 3.7 for oil ring. Would that be Omega size? The ring size doesn´t match my other Omega pistons, but as mentioned, they are for Renault.

Again, thanks for the Omega lead. A quick Google seemed to confirm the Howley ring sizes correlate with the Omegas for the A-series. Let´s hope Santa reads the forum :P
