1275s carb question

Question on order of assembly.Does the heat shield go next to the manifold and then the spacers. Or spacers next to manifold then heat shield?

Manifold, spacer, heat shield ....but the shield is indented towards the block to clear the float chambers

Thank you, It's just that the shield comes very close to the oil separator on the the front tappet cover. While I am talking about the tappet covers. I have the red thick gasket on the front and thin cork one on rear. Is this correct?
