Some more leakages troubles

Hello everyone:

I'm having some leakage troubles from rainy days and after washing the car.

The thing is that some water accumulates in the shelf behind the card, just in the spot circled in the image, but cant seem to follow where is the water coming through.

Also, I wonder if the back of the clock should be exposed like the second image or is there some kind of cover cuase all the cables get really wet and some water sits in the housing.

Water leaks can be tricky. My first though is from the wiper wheel box, or washer jet area. If you get stuck, dust a bit of baby powder over that area and rinse the car with a hose.. There will be a trace to follow. If it's not there, carry on testing & Blow the powder off between tests.

My money is on the back of the bonnet, there should be a foam rubber strip in there to prevent water getting in there. It goes down the back of the bonnet, through the speedo hole & emerges on the dash.

Just a strip of high density foam (non absorbent) in the rear channel. Or if your not bothered about originality yes one of the later rubber seals available from Minispares.

Put a search into Minispares for “bonnet seal” and it will come up with all the alternatives, JRC8000 seems to be recommended, but 14A9010MS is more like the original.
