Hi-Lo fitting etc...

Post by WMU 211G »

I'm thinking of ordering the Hi-Lo kit from Minispares for my Mk2 Cooper which was converted to dry ages ago by a previous owner - I've never done any suspension mods myself before, is it a simple enough job?

Cheers ;)

I would suggest before you order the Hi/Low kit .. look at what other bits of Rubber are starting to perish within the suspension, given todays Rubber stuff in my experiences last about 6 months before seals & bushes start to perish .. i have fitted adjusting suspension on all my cars & with normal struggles it is not an issue to fit .. also re-check the Tracking.

Thanks, will do - the car was restored not so long ago including the suspension / subframes etc but I'll check it all the same.

I would say it’s simple enough to do, but you may need a spring compressor for the front.

At the rear you’ll need to remove the fuel tank(s) to get access to the top of the shock

Additional parts you might need to replace at the same time:
Knuckle joints x 4
Front top arm bearing dust seals
Front droop rebound buffer
